December 17, 2006 Looking at Mary through a Protestant Lens
The story and sacredness of Mary is well revered and frequently spoken of in the Catholic Church but frequently overlooked by Protestants. She is a paradox in her humanity but bearer of the divine and in her being both mother and virgin. In our show we will examine what is the role of Mary in our understanding of ourselves and in our faith. Bishop Sally Dyck of United Methodist Church, Minnesota Annual Conference with Reverend Peg Chemblerin as our host. December 10, 2006 Housing and Homelessness in MinnesotaIn October of 2003 in Minnesota 20,347 people were without homes or were precariously housed (may have a place to sleep for tonight but not a secure home). More than half of these people were children and youth. There are many contributing factors to homelessness, the faces of homelessness are diverse. The solution to homelessness and lack of affordable housing needs to be just as comprehensive as the issue itself. We welcome Michael Dahl, executive director of Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless and Monica Williams, local Realtor and member of Metropolitan Interfaith Coalition for Affordable Housing on to our show. |
