Every five years the U.S. Farm Bill comes up for renewal in congress. The impact of this legislation is broad effecting most acutely the health of our rural communities but also has huge implications for the world's hungry.

March 4, 2007 Ending hunger in Minnesota
This year marks the 25th year of the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign. The goal this year is to raise 9 million pounds and dollars for 300 food shelves across the state. While understanding that 25 years of people going hungry in Minnesota is nothing to celebrate, the work of the Minnesota FoodShare is. Sue Kainz, campaign coordinator of Minnesota Foodshare joins our conversation to talk about the state of hunger in Minnesota and how each of us can help mae sure no one goes hungry in our state.

February 4th, 2007 Children Left Behind
In Minnesota we have 70,000 children without health insurance on any given day. What are the implications and costs of leaving so many Minnesotan children without health insurance? Current legislation in Minnesota is attempting to provide universal healthcare for our Minnesotan children, titled the Children's Health Security Act. Laurie Beckman Yetzer of Congregations Concerned for Children has been working with a coaltiion of chidlren's advocacy groups to ensure that none of our children are left behind. Join our conversation as we explore what we can do to ensure the best for the children of Minnesota.
