With the emergence of our global village, it is becoming increasingly difficult to turn our backs on those whose views conflict with our own. Fortunately, our expanded context has helped humankind develop new ways of understanding conflict - including new tools for responding to conflict. Later this month, the Human Rights Center of the University of Minnesota will be hosting a gathering called "The Gifts and Challenges of Controversy: Tools for Deep Connection" - an afternoon and evening of lectures, breakout sessions, and performance. This Sunday the Reverend Peg Chemberlin will welcome the gathering's keynote speaker, Kenneth Fox - along with other conference organizers Ira Gordon and Jane Haan - to discuss ways we can better handle controversy.
